Broadleaf Capital is a specialist consulting company, based in Australia and New Zealand, providing advice, facilitation and training in the areas of:
  • project risk management
  • strategic and organisational risk, management
  • risk assessments for supplier liability
  • procurement
  • contract management and negotiation
  • climate change risk management
  • spatial risk analysis and modeling
  • bio security risk management
  • risk training
  • quantitative risk modeling

Since the company was founded in 1991, Broadleaf has worked with major organisations in government and across a wide range of industry sectors. Broadleaf has been closely involved in the development of risk management standard ISO 31000. Broadleaf’s skills are in structuring assignments to allow client knowledge to be applied effectively in pursuit of client aims and objectives.

In risk management, this often involves facilitating risk assessments, to generate a register of risks and opportunities, with priorities that have been agreed by the management team, as a prelude to developing action plans for reducing the risks and capturing the opportunities. Such a risk and opportunity register and the action plans that flow from it may be sufficient for many purposes. Qualitative risk assessments of this kind are a necessary starting point for quantitative risk analysis of costs and schedules, for developing negotiating strategies and tactics, and for setting priorities for matters to be included in contract documents.

Broadleaf’s approach to risk management is based on the International Standard for Risk Management ISO 31000. The standard is customized to suit the client requirements in the areas of –

  • Qualitative risk identification, risk assessment and risk prioritisation, and the development of cost-effective risk treatment strategies,
  • Quantitative analysis and modeling of cost schedule and cash flow risks.

Broadleaf continues to support the development of top flight risk management expertise through the Broadleaf Capital International Scholarship at Australia’s premier business school, the Australian Graduate School of Management.
