3:45 pm to 5:00 pm General Ledger Case Study Using CAATs for Journal Entry Testing – manual journal entries for same amounts to same account, system journal entries on holidays and weekends, back-dated entries, missing document numbers, search for specific journal entries by questionable narration, entries out of date range for quarter/period testing.
5:00 pm to 5:30 pm Business Travel case study Non-compliance with travel policy, duplicate travel claims submitted, analysis of travel expenses and consistency checks on air miles traveled to similar destinations.

Overview of ‘Top 20’ numeric, date and character @ functions with practical examples from live audit projects like removing numbers from narration fields, looking for specific words in character fields, transactions on holidays/weekends, conditional what-if tests and more.

11:15 am to 12:15 pm Purchase to Pay Case Study Identifying duplicate vendor bill payments, splitting of payments to circumvent threshold limits of authority, indicators of fictitious vendors in vendor master files, MIS reporting capabilities like Top Vendors value-wise, ABC Sampling on High and Low Order Values, Single-Vendor Purchases of A Class Items.
12:15 am to 1:00 pm Continuous Auditing for Payroll Learn how to automate concurrent audit testing so that focus can be maintained on high risk areas closest to the underlying business process. For instance – reconciliation of current employee payouts and left employee lists, ghost employee indicators – high net pay to gross pay ratios, duplicate allowance pay-outs in same month, admissibility tests – employees getting conveyance allowance and company car.
