About the programme :

Today’s businesses are influenced by changes happening on a global scale. The role of a Company Director - individually and collectively as a Board, is to operate in the interest of all stakeholders within this complex environment. A Director’s effectiveness in decision-making is the key to an organisation’s success.

Boards need to promote a culture of excellence and the tone has to be set at the Top. Starting with the Composition of the Board and its processes, this culture extends to the quality of interaction that the Board members have among themselves and with the executive management. Non- Executive directors could and should significantly contribute to the performance of the company. The challenges to effective board governance are all the more in case of concentrated ownership companies, and in particular family owned and controlled businesses.

Effective Directors  will be conscious of enhancing their own personal and collective  capabilities to perform their three-dimensional role of contributing, counseling and controlling so as to value-add to the company, its business and above all to its shareholders and other stakeholders.
